American White Oak (Quercus alba). It is finished with a sealer coat and waxed to keep the look as natural as possible.

Garden Shed Plans – A Perfect Plan Lets Your Shed “BUILD ITSELF”

Talking about the perfect garden shed plans one may think that it merely features a gable roof, double doors, and side and rear windows for natural lightning. Well, the reality is, these factors only provide you with the basic understanding of what your shed may include but not the complete detailed description which serves as a staircase towards your building objective.

Most of the beginners and even experienced builders fail to outline a step by step guide before initiating the construction process which ultimately results in wastage of bucks, sweat and a heck lot of time without getting the desired result. Let us dig some miles deeper. Consider a situation in which you are trying to prepare a chocolate cake with ingredients provided but not a single hint of procedure.

What will be the outcome?

In best cases you will end up preparing something that looks like a cake but doesn't taste like one and the worst cases will lead you to mix everything randomly in indefinite proportions and make a chocolate “soup” rather than a cake. Even though you have been provided with the ingredients but still you can't produce a cake without knowing the step by step procedure. In layman's terms, lack of plan leaves you with an undesirable result.

By this time, you may be wondering what a perfect plan may look like or what are the steps one may follow to create a perfect plan? As mentioned in the title of this write up, unique garden shed plans allow your shed to “build itself” that is, its simplicity leaves you with no work to do than just pick up the material and fix it on its respective place just like the block building games you used to play with in your childhood. I am using the word “plans” instead of “plan” because their can be more than one unique design to help your shed look superior than the others. The more number of plans means more options to select from.

Most of the people who use the planned way of construction get limited options to choose. As a result, they are forced to build a shed on which they can regret everyday. This can easily be avoided if you have lots of ways for your garden shed to look.

Perfect garden shed plans have the following characteristics:

1) It must suit your purpose- One can build a shed to satisfy different purposes such as organize house parties, storage or chilling during the weekends. Each case requires a suitable design as you can't plan a party in the storage shed.

2) Each design must have an associated step by step guide – Having the design is not sufficient. Your plan must consist of an associated guide which makes construction a child's play. The guide must be so simple that anyone with zero woodworking experience may also be able to build a perfect shed like an expert.

3) Plan must contain material list for no wastage: A beginner usually purchases a lot of construction materials, some or most of which are wasted after the completion of the task. Think if you could prepare a precise and accurate list of materials provided so that the extra money can be saved and invested in painting or decorating purposes. Well, perfect garden shed plans consists of such kind of a list.

Creating such a plan may consume a lot of your time. In the mean time, surfing the internet to find such plans is of no use as I myself have tried very hard but found nothing but incomplete and blurred designs which generates a lot of confusion.

Now, what if you are provided with a ready made ideal plan? It will reduce your work to fun. Well, it has truly reduced mine. So, for further information regarding the topic and to get the complete garden shed plans list please visit:

Shipping Container Homes – Trendy or Trashy?

Much like in fashion, in interior design trends come and go. However, one trend seems to be sticking around for the long haul: going green. With going green, there are a plethora of options for recycled products to reclaimed woods, newer manufacturing processes that use less fossil fuels and so forth. That being said, one trend has risen in recent years where people are reusing shipping containers and creating entire homes within their walls. So, are shipping container homes trendy or trashy? You decide. If you've got a large house, you could easily conceal a storage container in the back to add on to your home. It's a great way to add on additional needed square footage without compromising the front curb appeal of your home or the interior design of the inside.

What Room? Any Room!

Since you can use a shipping container to add on to your home, it's no surprise that you can use these boxes to create just about any space. This includes adding on to existing kitchen designs, adding a new bathroom, creating additional bedroom designs or perhaps even creating entirely new living room designs for a home.

Concealed Looks

Just because you know it's a shipping container, doesn't mean anyone else has to know. You can actually alter the interior and exterior of the space to suit the look and style of your home. Interior design is flexible and of course, shipping containers are no exception. Just because you're reusing the frame doesn't mean you've got to stick with the look.

Shipping containers are extremely versatile, as mentioned before. However, what wasn't mentioned is this: you can combine a number of shipping containers together to create the desired amount of space. You can also redesign the space by cutting and rearranging the shipping container to create the right shape and style for your home. In other words, it's so versatile, you can create just about anything; and that also includes the interior design and decorating the space.

They Make Great Cabins

Vacation homes can be expensive and remodeling a shipping container might not be an exception to this rule. However, despite the cost of the interior design and remodeling, these containers actually make great vacation homes. You can use them as a cabin “up north,” or even a beach house “down south.”

Trailer Trash Unfortunately, as expected, there are also many reasons that these containers can be considered ‘trashy.' For example, shipping containers are made from metal; but so are trailers and no one enjoys being considered “trailer trash.” These homes give a whole new meaning to the word. Plus, no matter how you dress up the interior design or the exterior of the house, some people might always look at it as a trailer.

Turn up the Air, or Wait, Turn up the Heat? Metal conducts heat. A giant metal container won't be too comfortable, especially if you live in warmer climates. Giant metal containers also conduct the cold, so you won't be comfortable in the winter, either, will you? Controlling the temperature inside a large shipping container home can be extremely difficult. In the end, only you can decide if you feel that this kind of home is trendy or trashy. After all, you can gussy up the interior design of a trailer, but that doesn't make it any less trashy, or does it?

Cutting Openings in Shipping Container Sides Can Be Done With Common Tools

Most shipping container customization plans will involve adding windows, doorways, vents or even opening up a side wall. Cutting Cor-Ten steel although not as easy as cutting wood can be done with a number of different tools that you may have available in the typical handyman's tool box.

First and most importantly is to protect yourself while working with cutting tools. No matter what tool you select, the cut steel will have very sharp edges; wear a pair of heavy leather gloves like those designed for welding. The cutting operation involves sparks and metal shavings, wear eye protection! The tools are loud and the steel shipping container will increase the noise, wear good hearing protection! Also wear a heavy long sleeve shirt and long pants. I know that may not always be pleasant however it sure beats hot metal shavings landing on you. Speaking of landing on you, shipping containers are constructed from 12 gauge steel, approximately 1/8″ of an inch thick. A big piece of this stuff like from a door opening will be heavy, be careful when finishing your cut to make sure a heavy piece of metal with razor-sharp jagged edges will not fall toward you and injure you.

To begin, use a sharpie type marker to clearly draw edge of your opening on the container steel. If cutting an opening on shipping container isn't or will not develop into a frequent practice for you then you can use a saws-all or reciprocating saw with a heavy steel cutting blade. Save yourself some frustration here, don't buy cheap blades, they're cheap for a reason, this is heavy-duty work and you want several heavy-duty blades available. Drill a hole on the inside of the line of your marked opening big enough for the saw blade, put your blade in the hole and begin cutting along your line.

You can also use a skill saw with a good meal cutting blade. To start your cut, first set the blade on top of your mark to get lined up. Lift the rear of the skill saw up enough so that the blade leaves the container surface and start the saw blade, slowly ease the saw blade down to your mark until the blade cuts through the steel then follow your line. You'll have to repeat this process when you come to the corners as a skill saw does not turn. Don't panic in the event you wander off of the line a little bit with either of these cutting methods, any error can easily be fixed.

Those who cut this type of steel on a more regular basis should have a torch available, or the ultimate field cutting instrument, a plasma cutter in the tool arsenal. These will be much quicker and simpler than saws and much less fooling around when turning corners. You can rent these tools at most equipment rental locations but practice on some scrap metal before you begin cutting on your container.

While its heavy-duty work, cutting openings in shipping containers isn't hard and can be accomplished with any number of tools, just do it – carefully, and the easiest for you method will come to you.

Shipping Container Homes – The Real Benefits

There are many benefits to living in a home built from used shipping containers, and more and more people are starting to realize this and take action. If you are already lucky Container Homeenough to have built your own and/or already live in one, you'll know these benefits first hand and will have experienced them for yourself.

Much cheaper than conventional building methods of timber-framed buildings, and brick and mortar buildings, used containers are modular, flexible in design (and can be made to look absolutely beautiful!), durable, eco-friendly, and just an all-round winner when it comes to building your own home.

Over the next few paragraphs I'm going to outline some of the benefits of living in used shipping containers.

Economical to build…

Although the price of containers is currently on the rise (due to various factory closures in China during 2009 and early 2010), you can still pick up a fairly good bargain. As the global recession starts to ebb and global trade routes begin to get busier again, the production of shipping containers will increase also. You'll start to see container prices start to dip again, or at the very least remain stable.

You can currently pick up a used container for around $1,500USD. That's a base price of $1,500USD for 305sq feet of floorspace. Not bad when you compare it to the price of more traditional forms of construction.

So to conclude this point, used container homes are much more economical to build than more conventional building methods.

Eco-Friendly (Green Living)

So how green can shipping container living be?

The answer: They can be as green as you want them to be.

If you want to go down the truly green route, then think of your home more as an ‘eco-pod'. You could produce your own energy by putting a few solar panels on the roof. You can use hydro if you're close to a river or fast-flowing stream.

You can apply a ‘Green/Living Roof' to the top of your containers which will aide in insulation and greatly reduce your heating costs (in the winter) and cooling costs (in the summer).

Durable and Weather-proof

Consider the fact that shipping containers are built to withstand the most unforgiving weather conditions, travelling hundreds of thousands of miles aboard open-top trans-oceanic shipping-container ships… Built to have a minimum working life of 20 years before being decommissioned. After that, these containers, placed in a fixed position and maintained, have an almost infinite lifespan.

Made of pre-fabricated steel and welded together, they are made to be rigid and strong, and very hard-wearing. This makes them hugely practical in areas of high geological activity, such as earthquake zones and hurricane hotspots.

Shipping containers can easily hold out against windspeeds of up to 175mp/h (281km/h) when anchored with pylons…which is easily done. Every building should have suitable foundations whether it be from used shipping containers or a traditional build.

Above I've outlined the three main benefits most home-owners will immediately notice. They are in fact three of the main things many people look at when buying any type of home. It just goes to show the explosion in shipping container homes in the past few years is totally justifiable, and why so, so many people are turning to these containers to build their own dream homes.

Taking the Time to Consider Greenhouse Plans Before Making a Final Choice

When looking at greenhouse plans, you have a wide choice. Before you get lost in a pretty plan, there are a few things to think about. Price is important to many people. However, the choices you make about these important aspects will directly affect the price you pay for the final structure.

Some Aspects to Consider

The most important aspect to consider is size. If you just want a small space to overwinter houseplants, you do not need a full sized solarium attached to your house. A small greenhouse in the backyard might be enough. If you want to grow vegetables throughout the winter, a greenhouse attached to your home might actually work better than one in the backyard. You can find plans for different sizes so you can select the one for your needs.

Location is another important aspect of selecting greenhouse plans. Greenhouses need sun. That is something you cannot avoid. South and southeast sun exposure is idea. You do not want strong shade on the structure since that will block the sun. However, it is important to make sure there is not too much sun in the summer afternoons as that can actually make things too hot inside. Deciduous trees make good cover for afternoon sun.

When looking at greenhouse plans, you want to consider materials as well. Materials will help determine the final cost as well as how you build the greenhouse. You can get a beautiful permanent structure attached to your home, made from glass and steel. However, if you want a structure that costs less and may not be so permanent, you might want to consider something made from PVC with plastic sheeting stretched over it. There are several options in between these price points though.

Price also depends on the type of foundation you select based on your selected greenhouse plans. A permanent foundation is essential for glass greenhouses. With a PVC frame, you can get away with posts driven into the ground. A permanent foundation usually means poured concrete along the perimeter. If you attach the greenhouse to your home, you always need a poured concrete foundation. The entire floor should not be concrete however. A wet floor can become a safety issue. You can put in a center walkway of concrete or gravel.

It is important to regulate the temperature inside the greenhouse. Heat is important, but too much heat can cause problems with plants. When looking at greenhouse plans, you need to look at whether the plan offers options for environmental regulation. For a greenhouse attached to the house, you can tap into your home's heating system. For a separate building, you can use a combination of venting, fans, and heating elements to keep the temperature at the right level.

Air circulation and ventilation is as important to a greenhouse as heat. Plants are living things. They need fresh air. If you attach a greenhouse to your home, you need to be able to separate the space from the living area. This will allow you to vent the greenhouse without venting the rest of the house. Fans are part of air circulation.

A Few Final Thoughts

Many greenhouse owners like getting up each morning and tending their greenhouses. They can use manual systems to open and close vents as well as turning on and off heating elements. However, most gardeners cannot spend a great deal of time in the greenhouse. They may not be home during the middle of summer to ventilate the greenhouse space if it gets too hot inside. Using modern automation in a greenhouse space is one thing to consider. Some greenhouse plans consider this, while others do not. Watering is another function some choose to automate. There are automatic watering systems available.

Homemade Chicken Coops – Important Tips For Beginners

Are you looking to buy a chicken coop but you just can't seem to find what anything that appeals to you? Well then, building your own chicken coop will be exactly what you need.HOMEMADE CHICKEN COOPS - IMPORTANT TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

There are a couple of things that you have to consider before building a chicken house. How much are you willing to spend on materials and other items? Where do you get plans? What type of design are you searching for?

Even when you feel that you have found a beautiful design for your coop's exterior, you will still need to focus on building a steady and durable one.

Well then, let's go through some basic things that you will need to know.

First and most important of all, you will need to adjust the size of your coop to accommodate your backyard. You will have to consider various factors such as the number of chickens you want to rear, total amount of space you have in your yard and the size of chicken coop that you want to build.

Inspect your landscape

Before you can start on construction, you will need to clear any obstacles which may hinder or complicate matters later one. Since your chickens require plenty of light, you will need to cut any trees which may block sunlight to the chicken house. Not only that, it will actually keep your chicken warms during those extreme winter conditions.

Next, you will need to decide what type of chicken coop you are looking for. Are you looking for an extravagant, double floored mansion, with a ramp that connects both floors? Or do you prefer a plain and basic one just to fulfill the shelter needs of your chickens? Keep in mind, however, that chicken coops can get dirty very easily so you may want to consider building a chicken coop that is easy to clean.

Besides that, its is useful to find out what breed of chickens you have at the moment, or are planning to have in the future. Then, you will need to make a decision, which means wanting to breed more chickens or just simply raise and take care of your hens.

If you chose the former, you will need to construct a bigger coop to accommodate the growing number of chickens. This means that you will have to expand your chicken house beyond its original size.

Following similar structures

Since chicken coops are similar to many other animal housings such as dog houses, you can look for different features of the dog house and incorporate them into your coop.

The most important aspect of a chicken coop has to be its durability. Chicken coops need to be resilient to harsh weather conditions such as the blazing heat or freezing cold. Besides that, a properly built chicken coop will guarantee more productivity and better chickens.

You will need to provide insulation if you reside in an area that experience cold or rainy seasons. Also, it prevents moisture from entering the coop.

Maintain sanitary conditions

Different people have different ways of keeping their coop clean. Some of them prefer to keep their coops elevated by building them on stilts. This prevents predators such as snakes or dogs from invading the coop and eating your precious chickens.

One effective way to keep your chicken house clean is by installing perches for the chicken's poop. By doing this, you can significantly save yourself lots of trouble to clean up the coop because all you have to do is clear the perches. It also prevents bacteria and contamination and most important of all, creates a clean and healthy environment for your chickens.

Building a chicken coop is not exactly the easiest thing to do. But once you understand a few simple rules, you will find it surprisingly easy to accomplish. So what are you waiting for? Start working on your chicken coop now!

Finding The Best Shed Plans to Download

Do you want to download best shed plans? The cheapest way to get shed plans is by downloading them from the internet. Once you have finalized on the design of the shed you want to build, looking for the right shed plans is the next important step.Finding The Best Shed Plans to Download

You can save a lot of money and time by building your own shed. Constructing a shed by yourself is a smart choice also because you can build a shed of just the right size you need. Some of the popular shed sizes include 10 x 8, 12 x 10 and 12 x 16. It is easier and cheaper to buy your own timber depending on the grade of timber you prefer and the amount of cash you want to spend on your shed. If you buy a ready-made shed, you may not have much choice in the size of the shed and the quality of wood used. The best shed plans come with a complete list of material and detailed blueprints. They will help you can build a shed which will last for many decades.

If you do not have a lot of space for building the shed you may need to go for a smaller size. But if space is not a problem then you should always build the shed as large as possible. You may feel that a smaller shed will be sufficient for your needs today, but as the years go by you may run out of space. So make sure you build your storage shed as tall and wide as possible.

There are many factors you will need to consider while constructing a shed and each person will have his own personal needs. Here are a lot of shed designs available which meet the most common needs of home owners. But before you begin you hunt for online shed plans, keep this fact in mind. Quality always comes at a price. You can find a lot of free shed blueprints online, but very few of them will have the complete details necessary for actually building the shed. A complete shed blueprint must come with a full list of materials and necessary diagrams as well as detailed instructions on how to assemble the shed piece by piece.

Beware of fancy shed building plans. They may look very pretty but the patterns and cutting involved may be too intricate for you understanding or the plans may just not have enough details to finish the job properly. Anytime you have to guess the measurement of any component, there is a chance you can go wrong and waste precious timber. The money you saved on the shed plans will be lost tenfold in the wood!

It is much wiser to buy shed plans from a trusted website. These people have already done the hard work and figured out the exact measurements and details you will needed during construction. You can easily get thousands of shed plans for under $30 – $40. You may feel that all you need is just the plans for one shed but it is far better to have a wide range of choice to select the shed which is most suitable for you.

The plans for a single shed can easily end up costing you $10 – $12, so getting thousands of plans at a wholesale price of just $30 would be a much better bargain for the smart woodworker.

Simple to Build Backyard Sheds for any DIYer

Finding some large shed plans can help you save time, money and effort. Visualize yourself out in your garden, facing the spot where you want to build your shed. This will give you a clear picture of how the storage shed should look. You will probably get many ideas about the color, shape and design for you shed.

Unfortunately, it could be difficult to build a large shed if you will just rely on the vague ideas in your mind. It is best to have a blueprint that is comprehensive yet easy to understand, flexible and designed by expert builders.

Find the Best Shed Plans Online

One thing that is very crucial to remember is that there is no need to settle for cheap and low-quality shed blueprints. Also, it is not ideal to build a shed from the first shed plan you have found online. Be very careful in choosing a plan for a spacious shed. Search from websites that offer wide range of choices. There is always the possibility of changing your plans when you take a closer look on other blueprints available online.

Some online sources offer different blueprints for storage and backyard sheds. You will surely be surprised at how a basic storage area will look once built using a large shed plan tried and tested by master builders for several years. It is recommended to choose a comprehensive plan.

It Is Easy To Buy Large Shed Plans

Bear in mind that an effective plan normally includes the details about the materials and tools needed for the project. Search for the shed blueprints with comprehensive and clear diagrams. Make sure that the plan contains step-by-step process that can easily be followed by average carpenters.

To lessen your expenses, you might consider downloading free shed plans for large storage sheds. This is an important factor to consider since most of these plans usually do not include comprehensive step-by-step process and measurements that will help you to build the shed as a DIY project. Usually, you will end up seeking help from professionals and search for the materials that you need for the project.

The Advantages of Using Shed Blueprints

When you make mistakes in cutting and designing the wood, you must start from the very beginning until you wear yourself out and just hire a more skilled builder to do the project. The total expenditures of the project might put a hole in your wallet. By searching for superior shed blueprints, you can be certain that you will have the best value for your hard-earned money. Bear in mind that once you start building the shed, there will be no turning back. So, it is very important to search for the best plan if you want to cut on your expenses without compromising the quality of the storage shed.

Generally, the size of the storage shed depends on the space you have outside and the reason why you need to have a shed. Shed blueprints normally come in certain range of sizes. For instance, the normal design of the shed is 10×12 or larger depending on the design and space availability. So, if you need a shed that is much larger, you need to search for a plan that offers flexibility.

Large shed plans are just what you need. You can find shed plans 12×16 and many different shed blueprints in all kinds of designs and sizes by following the Learn More link below.

Looking After Your Family in a Disaster

A disaster scenario is not the easiest idea to cope with in the beginning, people generally are avoiding this subject as being too remote probabilistic-ally speaking to even consider it. But, if you think about it, taking care of your family in a disaster scenario should be your number one priority. And also, if you're watching the news, you should take emergency readiness very seriously, with all these natural(or man-made) disasters happening all around the

There are all sorts of things to take care of, you just can't wrap your head around this issue, doesn't it? It seems so complicated, you don't even know where to start. Well, here's a crash course in disaster prepping in six easy steps. After you finish reading it, you can use it as a blueprint for making you and your family more secure if safe.

Step 1: You must store water. Even if humans are able to resist without food for extended periods of time (for up to three weeks or even more), water is essential for survival, you won't last more than three days without it. In a natural (or man-made) disaster, you can expect for your regular water supply to get toasted/tainted with pollutants (the delivery pumps or the pipe lines can be easily damaged in an earthquake or in case of an extended power failure), hence storing water is essential for your survival.

Now, the problem is how to store enough water for you and your family, especially if you live in a confined space. Well, there are a few possibilities to consider.

One possibility is to buy water rations (bottled water and the like), though it may be costly. You must keep in mind that the average adult needs about half a gallon of water/day, so you must make the right calculations and store enough water for at least a few days. Another (cheaper)possibility is to store tap water in food-safe plastic recipients and also to build yourself a water collection system for rain-water.

Make sure that your water storage containers are sterile and were never used for anything but water before.
Consider investing some money in a high-quality water filter and also learn a few tricks about how to sterilize contaminated water (there are a few products on the market used for sterilizing water).

Step 2: Store imperishable foods, canned goods and the like.

Obviously, one must eat from time to time, it looks like a no brainer, but most people don't think about such things, because “it will never happen to me”. You can go for emergency rations or regular canned foods, but make enough supplies to last you for two or three weeks.

Step 3: Buy or make your own 72 hour emergency kit.

As the name suggests, the 72 hour kit must contain enough essential items for survival, for you and your family, in case you need to vacate your residence in case of an emergency. The kit should contain items like food ratios, flares, blankets, meds, your most important papers, you get the idea.

Step 4: Get yourself a backup solution for cooking your food. In case of a disaster, it's very probable that your power supply (electric AND gas) will be off for at least a few days, and you don't want to eat cold beans out of a can, or do you? A few tips and tricks: if you're living in a rural area, obviously you can cook outdoors, using wood and stuff like that. Another option is to buy a gas powered barbecue or camping stoves. Use your imagination.

Step 5: You must know how to deal with human waste. In a disaster scenario, it is very plausible that your toilet/piping systems will stop working. I know, it's not a pretty picture, but these thing happen. Consider investing in a sanitation kit, that contains heavy duty garbage bags, powdered chlorinated lime and a bucket with a lid. Don't forget the toilet paper, by God!

Step 6: Be prepared for medical emergencies. In a disaster scenario, it's very plausible that your access to medical facilities will be impaired, to say the least. You should have first aid kits available and also store critical medications, like antibiotics, analgesics or a supply of all prescription medicines your family members require.

How To Make Easy Money With Your Wood Crafts

How To Make Easy Money With Your Wood Crafts

Are you a woodworking hobbyist, who is looking to make money in the woodworking industry? If you are, you can make money, no matter what your level of skill. It is a great woodworking-shopindustry to be in, because of the fact that you can make money as a woodworking novice making simple items and selling them and, when you become skillful, someone will offer you a job or you can stay self-employed..

Even a complete beginner woodworking amateur can make clothes pegs and clothes hangers. These can be sold around the neighbourhood or to a local shop, if you do not like the idea of selling yourself. After a few weeks, as you gain experience, you can move onto swing seats, chess boards, stools, bird tables, dog kennels and wine racks. After a few months of that, you could attempt a garden bench. After that, you are away.

The key to any woodworking project is the woodworking plans. A set of drawings or even just one drawing, an exploded diagram, of the item to be made. The plans will give a clear, exploded diagram, all measurements and angles, a narrative, explaining what to do first and possibly pointers too.

The suggestions could be about the wood to use, the skill level of the project, the estimated time it will take to complete, the tools to use and the finish to give it.

Once you have acquired the skills to make different items of furniture such as garden benches and garden tables, you can go looking for a full-time job, if that is what you would like. A word of warning though, do not try to be what you are not. A good foreman carpenter will see your level of ability within 15 minutes, but he will decide to keep you on depending on your ability and approach to employment.

He may conclude that you do not know enough, but he may reckon that you are worth a try, because you seem keen and eager to work. On the other hand, you may have bags of ability, but if he sees a lazy or insolent streak, you may be up the road anyway. The foreman carpenter will be experienced and will know what kind of person will fit in and whom to give a chance to.

Site work is clearly different from wood shop work, so keep that in mind when you ask for a job. Just because you can measure accurately and cut neatly with both feet on the ground, it does not mean you can cut a roof in while balancing on a rafter 20 feet in the air.

If your line of learning is as I have suggested above, you would probably be better off looking for a job in a woodworking shop or even a cabinet maker's shop. Or an up market kitchen cabinet manufacturer's, where you can learn more under supervision.

Later, you can move on to fitting the items others have manufactured in peoples' homes, which takes another kind of talent. People skills come into play here too, because the public can be rotten when they are paying to have work done. Stick with your woodworking or carpentry, whichever route you decide to take and you may be the foreman carpenter within a few years.

How to Plant a Pallet Garden

Check out this helpful blog post about what to look for when sourcing a pallet. You want to find one that is heat-treated (HT stamp), not MB!

In this video, I walk you through the steps for creating a vertical pallet herb garden. Originally, I thought I'd fill it with sedum and succulents because you know how I feel about those. But then, after a bit of research and thought, I decided to go with herbal edibles. Succulents are pretty low maintenance and are beautiful for sure, but they would make this project even more expensive than it already is. Rather than using just plain potting soil, you'd need succulent/cactus potting mix, which adds up, especially with this quantity. And buying all the succulents to fill the space is another investment entirely. Besides that, edibles are really my thing and perennial herbs are also low maintenance and beautiful. And I can eat them too! Bonus!

Now since I don't technically know where this pallet has been or how it has been treated or fumigated, I may not actually eat the herbs I've planted in it. But then again, maybe I'll live on the edge and put a few of those chocolate mint leaves into my next mojito after all.

The necessities:

1 clean pallet
weed cloth fabric (look for the thick fabric kind rather than the black, stretchy kind)
about 2 large bags of potting soil
28 starts (4 inch pots), preferably perennial herbs or ground cover
a heavy duty stapler and staples

The plants:

Creeping Golden Marjoram (Origanum vulgare)
Marjoram Miniature (Origanum onites)
Marjoram Golden Upright (Origanum majorana)
Chocolate Mint
Crinkle Leaf Oregano (Origanum onites aureum)
Common Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
Beach/Sand Strawberry (Fragaria chiloensis)
Lipstick Strawberry (Fragaria ‘lipstick')

5 Simple Steps on How to Build a Backyard Chicken Coop

5 Simple Steps on How to Build a Backyard Chicken Coop

As you probably know, a chicken coop is an essential part of raising backyard chickens.
It will provide your flock with warm shelter and a safe place to eat and sleep. However,
not many of us want to invest in a pre-made chicken coop for many reasons such as:
inflated cost and the hassle of delivery or bringing it home. Therefore, I have written
this article to help you build a backyard chicken coop fast and easy. If you follow these 5 easy steps, you
will be able to construct a strong and durable backyard chicken coop that will provide excellent shelter for your chickens and keep them safe from predators.

Step 1: Plan Ahead of Time.

If you want to build a backyard chicken coop with the least amounts of setbacks, you must PLAN ahead of time. Some things to think about before beginning your construction are: How many chickens will inhabit the coop?, What size are the chickens, large standards or bantams? How many nests will you provide the hens with? How many feeders and waterers will you have available? How many windows will your chicken coop require to give enough sunlight to your flock? Will you be constructing a chicken run with easy access into and out of the coop? You see, there are various questions that need to be answered before you build a backyard chicken coop because you may find out too late that the coop you built was not sufficient enough to keep your chickens happy and safe.

Step 2: Choose your Terrain.

Once you have answered all your pre-building questions, the next step is to choose a terrain where you
will build a backyard chicken coop in. It is very important that you choose an area that is wide enough for your coop to fit with plenty of space around it for a chicken run or for you to maneuver around. You do not want to build a coop where you do not have easy access around its perimeter. Try to choose a terrain where it receives direct sunlight and far from heavy bushes or weeds where snakes, rodents, and other predators may reside in.

Step 3: Sketch out your Design on Paper.

When attempting to build a backyard chicken coop, do not go at it with a concept in your head. This can lead to disaster. Make sure you sketch out your coop on paper, even if you're not an artist, and cover every angle including a top view of the roof and a sketch of the inside. If this is your first time building a backyard chicken coop, you shouldn't go for an architectural masterpiece, but rather start out with a simple chicken coop first just big enough for your flock and as you gain experience, then go for something of a greater scale.

Step 4: Gather all your Materials.

Before you build a backyard chicken coop, make an effort to collect all the materials you will need so that you won't have to take unexpected trips to and from the hardware or lumber store. A good example of materials you will need are: wood (2 x 4), concrete cinder blocks, chicken wire or fence wire, insulation strips, and ofcourse nails, screws, saw and hammer. While these are your most common materials, only you
will know exactly what you need when you complete steps 1 and 3 and actually plan ahead of time and sketch out your coop design from every angle.

Step 5: Build it.

It is now time to build a backyard chicken coop. You have done all your planning ahead of time. You have chosen a terrain convenient to maneuver around with excellent sunlight and free from predators. You have sketched out your chicken coop design on paper and you have gathered all your materials. Now all you have to do is put it together.

Some things to remember: Provide plenty of ventilation through screened windows, bury your outside chicken wire along the coop's borders about a foot deep to prevent predators from digging in, and if you live in cold climates, make sure to properly insulate the roof and insides of the coop.

I hope these 5 steps will help you build a backyard chicken coop with greater ease and success.
However, these are only a few guidelines and there is so much more information you should learn before you actually build a backyard chicken coop.

The Best Tiny House Build

A small home can pack a super-sized punch when it comes to reducing a house's environmental footprint. Energy-efficient, sustainable homes tend to be smaller homes, which inherently tumbleweed-tiny-home2have less square footage inside and less acreage outside. The inside costs less to heat, cool and light, leading to less energy consumption, and a minimal-sized lawn-if any-needs minimal maintenance, reducing emissions and contributing to a much healthier environment. But there's more to a “green home” than meets the eye.

A green home does not need to look as if it was built for the year 2100. In fact, many green homes look, from the outside, like other homes going up in new subdivisions. But on the inside and some unseen places on the outside, these abodes are unusual. Features such as rainwater capturing systems, a roof designed for solar installation, carpeting made of recycled materials, and wind power are just a few ways that a house is built with the environment in mind.

The greenest of the green are residential homes built to be certified to the highest standard of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. Conforming to the standards provided by the U.S. Department of Energy Building America Program, LEED has long been used for commercial and government buildings, but home certification is a relatively new phenomenon. One way that a green home is defined is its rating as being at least 40 percent more energy efficient than standard-code homes.

Want to learn more about prefab cottages, tiny homes, and more? Visit the Tumbleweed website and learn all about how to downsize to a smaller home and simplify your life.

For the pure sake of building cost, smaller homes are the most likely to be built as “green” homes. Many of the systems that are constructed as eco-friendly are not cheap, and the fewer solar panels and the smaller self-sustaining heating and cooling systems equate to a smaller build-out budget. The elements that make a home a green home have dropped in cost over the past several years, but constructing a basic LEED-certified house still runs about $3,500 more than it would cost to build a regular house. The highest-level LEED-certified home costs about $29,000 more. The smaller the home, the less expensive the process. The same concept applies to existing-home renovations or “greening up” an older home.

One example of a company that successfully merges the concepts of “green” and “small” is seen with Tumbleweed Tiny House Company founded by Jay Shafer. Shafer started building small homes out of his concern about the impact a larger house has on the environment. More than 10 years later, these “tiny” portable homes not only minimize square footage, but the green homes are fully insulated with double-pane windows and an adequate heater.

More and more homebuilders are greening the American Dream. It is suggested to verify a builder's credentials by asking for their ANSI-approved ICC-700-2008 National Green Building Standard certification (see for more information). Check out these builders online:

Aquaponics Garden Ideas

I have read great things about Aquaponics 4 Idiots and that is what really made me want to look at the course and write a Aquaponics 4 Idiots review. It was created by John Fay who is an expert in organic farming and specializes in Aquaponics. In his Aquaponics 4 Idiots guide he gives you a step by step plan to help you build your own Aquaponics system. You will also get a number of resources which train you in maintaining and getting the best out of your new Aquaponics system. aquaponics7

The Aquaponics 4 Idiots system makes some pretty impressive boasts, such as being able to grow 10 times more plants with their method of organic farming. Aquaponics is not exactly new. In fact it has been used by humans for thousands of years. But it is only just becoming very popular to organic farmers and gardeners. What's great about Aquaponics is your plants grow faster and your produce tastes better, and it's the fish that are doing all the work.

OK let's get to the Aquaponics 4 Idiots review. Aquaponics 4 Idiots comes in an eBook form which is a book that you download after purchase, there are also a fair few videos that you can download and watch. My first impressions were that the eBook was well written and easy to read. It contains plenty of information that I would consider very useful for anyone looking at building an Aquaponics system in their backyard. The videos are also well presented but I would say they lack a bit of quality and could be clearer but they are helpful.

There are also six bonus guides which are a nice bonus but do not really relate to Aquaponics as such. Maybe two of them do have ties in Aquaponics and are worth a read, the others you can read if you wish.

The Good Stuff

I was surprised at the quality of Aquaponics 4 Idiots. There is a lot of poor and incorrect information about Aquaponics floating around the Internet John Fays system really is a breath of fresh air.

Clear and correct step by step instructions to building what I would consider a wonderful and working Aquaponics system.

The Aquaponics 4 Idiots course goes much further than just showing you how to build an Aquaponics system, it also shows you how to maintain and get the best out of your new system.
The system that you build from following the Aquaponics 4 Idiots system will allow you to grow just about anything that you want.

Aquaponics 4 Idiots is one of the cheapest Aquaponics courses on the Internet.
I really believe that any normal person could follow John Fays guide and build a working Aquaponics system.

The Bad Stuff

I really liked the course so it's hard to pick out things that I did not enjoy. The overview quality is good but some of the images within the eBook are misplaced and end up making no sense at all once you get to the end of the page. Of cause after a while you get used to seeing them so the confusion goes away.

I know a lot of people do not trust digital products since there is a lot of poor information being sold on the Internet these days. I am glad to say that John does deliver on quality but I much prefer to have a paperback book, but I am afraid to say that Aquaponics 4 Idiots is only available in a digital form so you can not pick up a copy at Amazon or your local bookstore.

Overall I was happy I choose to do an Aquaponics 4 Idiots review. The quality of the eBook made this review a walk in the park. If you are looking for a cheap way to get into Aquaponics then I would recommend Aquaponics 4 Idiots. It really does stand out in front of all the bad Aquaponics training that is on the Internet.

I am not sure you will grow 10 tens more produce like John Fay states but I am sure that this is one of the best ways to get into Aquaponics. Please remember that Aquaponics systems take some time and money to build but after you have created the system the time and money required to maintain the system is very little.

Thanks for reading.

Fire Pit Guidelines

The popularity of fire pits is growing rapidly have become the most sought after accessory to have in your back yard. The variety now available on the market today is seemingly endless, so finding the right one for you and your budget has never been easier.

First off, before you make any decisions, check with your local authorities regarding fire features in your area. There may operational requirements, regulations regarding the type of fire feature, construction materials, dimensions and location as well as restrictions on what can be burnt. Make sure you are aware of these before you spend your hard earned money or start work!

Fire pits can be as simple or as elaborate as you want, or can afford. You may want create a stunning landscape design feature or just recreate the campfire experience of childhood memories. Perhaps you just want to enjoy the use of your outdoor area when the nights get a lot cooler, after all, there is nothing like the warmth of a fire along with flickering flames to provide a cozy gathering place.

The two main decisions to make are whether to build a permanent fire pit or buy a portable one and whether to burn wood or gas. Choosing the style, material and size of the fire pit may seem straight forward but its by taking into account the smaller issues such as functionality, convenience, maintenance and safety that will ensure you end up with the perfect fire fit for you. The pros and cons are listed below in order to help you achieve this and avoid any pitfalls! (sorry, just could not resist it!)

Choosing the right spot for your fire pit and safety concerns.

Safety should be your main concern when figuring out where to locate your fire pit. Your local code may have specific criteria so make sure you are fully aware of the details!

Generally speaking they must be placed in an area away from overhanging trees, bushes or any other combustible materials, structures, buildings or walls. Debris that can easily catch fire or organic material such as leaves, pine needles, dry grass needs to be cleared from an area at least 10 feet from the fire pit.
Both permanent or portable fire pits should only be placed on top of fire-resistant surfaces. A layer of gravel or paved area surrounding the fire pit will also help prevent the fire from accidentally spreading.

By placing the fire pit away from the flow of traffic and raising the fire pit from the ground you will make it hard for anyone to accidentally walk or fall in.
Choose a location for the fire pit that will reduce as much as possible the effect of smoke on neighbouring properties, or even you own or that matter. If this an issue then go with a gas burning fire pit as they do not emit smoke.

If children are a factor, incorporate a barrier such as a low wall surrounding the pit that will ensure they are kept a safe distance from the flames. Some portable fire pits are designed with a protective glass or Pyrex shield. This also helps limit the wind's affect on the flames.

For wood burning fire pits always use a safety screen. They come in various shapes and sizes and will help contain sparks and flying embers. Some models are sold with them, however if you are building fire pit make sure you incorporate a screen into the design.

Materials used in fire pits should be carefully considered. Porous stone, non treated river rocks and even cinder blocks should not be used inside a fire pit. When placed near intense heat, they can explode. Standard building bricks will eventually crack and need replacing over time. In order to prevent this fire pits should be lined with fire rated materials such as firebricks or thick steel rings. Use fire rated mortar. Adhesives are not advised as when heated they can give off unhealthy fumes.

Wood vs. Gas burning

Convenience – The advantage of gas is that you can have instant flames with no effort. There is no preparation required and best of all, nothing to clean up afterwards. Burning gas does not produce smoke so it is ideal for locations where this may be an issue. Unless you have gas lines to your fire pit you will have to change the gas tanks when empty but if you are burning wood then you will require a stockpile of logs. You will also have to build a fire before lighting it, keep it stoked, extinguish it and then finally clear out the ashes. More work perhaps, but for some people, the smell of burning wood, the sounds of a crackling fire and all the memories these evoke more than make up for it.

Safety – Gas burning fire pits do not produce sparks or flying embers and have a flame which you can control. When you switch off a gas fire pit at the end of the evening you know the fire is completely extinguished. Wood burning fires require a bit more care and attention before retiring to bed with peace of mind. Many gas burning models come with glass or Pyrex shields. This safety feature not only helps protects those gathering around from the flames by creating a barrier it also reduces the effect the wind has on the flames. As for wood burning fire pits, use a safety screen to reduce sparks and embers and only use dry seasoned wood.

Maintenance – This depends on the material it is made from and the fuel it uses. Gas fire burners and valves must be cleaned regularly to avoid blockages by insect nests and dirt buildup. Although this is easy to do, its is advisable to get them inspected every so often by a professional. A well built wood burning fire pit should require very little maintenance over the years other than emptying it of ashes. If you are using it for cooking then additional cleaning may be required to remove build up of grease and residue. Some metal fire pits will require further maintenance to keep them rust free and looking their best. Using a weather resistant cover is a good idea to increase longevity.

Aesthetics – Fire pits of any kind are an attractive addition to any back yard or patio. Gas fire places are great if you are leaning toward a more contemporary look. You can cover the burners with lava rocks, treated tumbled river rocks, fireplace logs or fire glass. Fire glass comes an amazing array of colours, it can provide the impact that takes your fire pit to a spectacular level.

Ecological impact – Fire pits may be magical but there is not avoiding the fact that they are used more for pleasure than necessity. So if their ecological impact is important to you, choose natural gas and propane as they are clean burning. After all there is no doubt that wood smoke is a pollutant.

Permanent vs. Portable.

Portable fire pits offer the most flexibility and versatility and come in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials and can meet almost any budget requirement. They can range from small portable campfires you can take with you on vacation to full size outdoor dinning fire tables. They can be fuelled by burning wood, natural gas, propane or gel. The main advantage they have over a permanent one is that you can reposition them whenever you need or want to. You can even take them with you if you move house.

Camping fire pit – Not only can you set one of these up in the back yard anytime you fancy a campfire experience you can also pack it up and take it with you when you go camping for real. Collapsable legs and a carrying case make this very easy. Don't forget to take the safety screen with you to contain flying sparks.

Chimenea – These are perfect for use on patios or in small spaces. They have the advantage of a chimney that channels smoke up and away from guests. The more traditional type only open to one side, ideal for the edge of a patio. More modern designs can provide 360º heat, however purists would not call these chimeras.

Fire bowls – The term fire bowl covers a wide range of designs and can be made from many different fire resistant materials. They are not always necessarily round either, they come in many different shapes. Some are designed on a stand or have legs to raise them off the ground. Others can simply be embedded in the ground or a structure or placed atop a plinth or pedestal for maximum impact. Many models even come with a cooking grate so you can use them for grilling.

Fire tables – These are tables and fire pits all in one. They combine the qualities of two of the most favoured social hubs of the home. The warmth of the fireside with its mesmerizing flames and the dining table around which families and friends gather to enjoy a meal, chat, laugh, gossip etc. Coffee table fire pits create a centre piece for the more relaxed seating/lounging areas of you outdoor space. The perfect hang out spot. Some fire dining tables can even come with cooking accessories for the ultimate entertainment experience.

Outdoor grilling – Using a fire pit for cooking can be easily achieved by placing a grate over the top. However there are fire pits available that are designed to cater for more ambitious culinary requirements while still providing the best qualities of a fire pit for all to enjoy.

Permanent Fire Pits are are fixed structures, either built in place using long lasting materials such as bricks and mortar, rocks and stone or are so heavy that moving them is not an option. You have the advantage of been able to design them to blend in with your existing patio or yard, even matching the materials already in place. The only limitations for this is your own imagination.

If you don't have the budget or building skills for elaborate projects then the easy option is to buy a pre-designed permanent fire pit kit that you can easily put together yourself.

If even that is more than you fancy doing then buy a ready made fire pit.

Simple and inexpensive wood burning fire pits can be built in the ground using the now classic method found in campsites and parks today. It's as easy as 123.
1-Dig a hole in the ground.
2-Add gravel and sand for drainage and and to provide a level base.
3-Line it with a metal ring to help contain the flames and focus the heat.

Some local authorities only allow fire pit's that are raised up off the ground, so please check first!! Root fires are a concern so don't forgo the gravel and sand layer. Some local authorities insist on a base of 25cm if the fire pit is not sitting directly upon a rock outcrop!

If you have decided to burn gas then you can either run gas lines to the fire pit or incorporate a propane tank into the design, preferably concealed. We strongly suggest using a certified technician when connecting natural gas or propane to any fire feature. Gas fire pit kits come in all shapes and sizes. You can buy burner kit to incorporate into your design or an entire structure that comes ready for you to apply your finish of choice.

Using safely:
There are a few common sense rules to enjoying your fire pit safely.
Never leave the fire unattended.
Do not use in windy conditions.
Use a safety screen which will help keep down the flying embers and sparks.
Lay down strict rules for children and ensure they abide by them.
Do not leave children unsupervised in the area.
Keep an eye on friends that may have had a few too many, they may require as much supervision as the children!
Keep a bucket of water, sand or an extinguisher handy.
Always make sure the fire is completely extinguished before you go to bed.

Wooden Pallet Gardening Trend

Welcome to the wooden pallet gardening craze. Urban gardeners are leaning them against outside walls, hanging them inside apartments, all while growing vegetables, herbs and flowers in places no typical garden would grow. It's gardening meets artistic expression.

Pallets are great space-savers because they let you grow vertically! They even help keep what's growing away from ground weeds and animals.

Let your creative side come to life. Lean your pallet against a wall or fence to add height and visual interest to your yard. A standing pallet garden is also easy to maintain; no more bending over to water or weed!

Every pallet is a DIY project waiting to grow.

DIY Mosaic Sink Tips

Tiny tiles are the best choice for a curved mosaic sink.

Mosaic Tile SinkThe key to a durable mosaic sink is using the right adhesive and grout. Epoxy adhesive bonds tiles with practically any sink surface, including porcelain, acrylic and stainless steel, and epoxy grout resists water and most stains. The downside is that epoxy materials must be mixed precisely and cleaned up quickly. Uninstalled sinks with no hardware are the easiest to tile. If your sink is already installed, remove it and the accompanying hardware, or hire a plumber to remove it for you. Tile the bare sink and install the faucet and drain hardware afterward for a neat, professional-looking result.

 1. Sand the sink with coarse-grit sandpaper to roughen the surface, and wipe off the sanding particles with a damp sponge.

2. Peel the mosaic tiles away from the webbed backing sheets. If you are using broken pieces of tile for the mosaic, arrange the pieces face up on your work surface for easy access.

3. Mix a batch of epoxy tile adhesive in a small bucket, following the manufacturer's directions.

4. Spread a 1/4-inch-thick layer of tile adhesive on the back side of one mosaic tile with a 3-inch putty knife and press the tile against the sink near the drain opening. It is best to start tiling around the drain opening and work out in all directions toward the edges of the sink.

5. Spread adhesive on the back side of another tile and press it against the sink beside the first tile. The curves of a sink won’t allow tile spacers to work correctly because the tiles can’t sit in straight, flat rows; use your eye to judge the spacing between tiles, which should be approximately 1/4 inch. Continue gluing tiles to the sink, working out in all directions from the drain opening, until the sink is covered.

6. Allow the adhesive to harden overnight, or as long as the manufacturer recommends.

7. Mix a batch of epoxy grout in a small bucket, following the manufacturer’s mixing directions.

8. Scoop up grout on the short edge of a foam-backed grout float. Spread grout over the tiles, working from the drain opening out in all directions. Force grout into the spaces between the tiles, dragging the edge of the float across the tiles in all directions.

9. Scrape grout off the float onto the edge of the bucket, and drag the edge of the float across the tiles again to remove as much excess grout as possible.

10.Let the grout rest for as long as the manufacturer recommends, which is usually about 15 minutes.

11. Mix the grout manufacturer’s recommended or proprietary grout cleaner in a small bucket as directed, then scrub the tiles and grout with an abrasive nylon scrubbing pad dampened with the solution. Wipe off the solution with a clean sponge, and let the tiles rest again for approximately two hours.

12. Mix a fresh batch of cleaning solution, and scrub only the tiles, avoiding the grout lines.

13. Wipe the tiles with a damp sponge, then wait for a chalky film to appear. Wipe off the film with a dry rag. Wait at least three full days before using the sink.

Things You Will Need

  • Sandpaper, coarse-grit
  • Sponges
  • Mosaic tiles, 1/2-inch or smaller
  • Epoxy tile adhesive kit with resin, hardener and filler
  • Buckets
  • Wooden paint stir sticks
  • Putty knife, 3-inch
  • Epoxy tile grout kit with resin, hardener and filler
  • Grout float
  • Epoxy tile grout cleaner
  • Nylon scrubbing pad
  • Rags

  • Once dry, epoxy materials almost impossible to clean up. This makes a sink tiled with epoxy adhesive and grout very durable, but it can also make a giant mess if you wait too long before cleaning grouted tiles. If you can’t finish all of the grouting steps — including cleaning — on the same day, wait to grout the tiles until you can.
  • Most epoxy adhesives and grouts will not clean up with water. Read the manufacturer’s instructions thoroughly before buying to be sure you have all the components that you need.
  • Epoxy kits contain at least two parts, and some contain three. Premixed adhesives and grouts are generally not true epoxies and may not produce acceptable results.

  • Ordinary thin-set mortar will not bond properly with most sinks.

Secret Tricks to Making Any DIY Craft

Simple Trick Cracks the Code to Making Any DIY Projects

Hi, I'm Alex Grayson and today I'm going to show you something that can completely transform the way you work on any DIY project, decorate your home or do woodwork..

It might sound crazy but in just a few seconds you'll see for yourself how you can turn any project you dream of into reality in a heart-beat.

I'll help you discover how to customize anything from chopsticks to baby cribs, turn a dismantled old chair into a unique work of art and make creative presents for your family and friends out of plain wood.

You'll never have to worry about imperfect measurements, bad plans, or lousy instructions…

In fact… you'll be able to build the designs you want almost on “auto-pilot” while having pinpoint accuracy and without having to follow any blue-prints.

And here's the best part… it works perfectly even if you're a first-timer.

I myself have been using this for well over 2 years now…

And let me tell you…

I'm Turning Dreams into Reality

You should've seen the look on my wife's face when I made her a limited edition, high-end dressing closet she saw in a magazine.

If I'd bought it for her it would have cost a small fortune… and this way I only spent a few bucks on some wood and screws…

I'm making unique pieces of furniture, most people only dream of, for pennies on the dollar, all from lumber…

I'll tell you all about it in a few seconds, but first let me tell you a bit about myself… just so you know where I'm coming from…

Like I told you, my name is Alex Grayson. I work in the car industry as an engineer. I used to be the kind of kid that took apart his parents' TV just to see how it works… along with the toaster, the fridge, and anything else I could get my hands on.

That curiosity turned me into a part-time inventor and a couple of years ago I picked up a new hobby… woodworking It started out as an escape, a way to relieve stress…

And soon enough I became addicted to it. Now I even wake up early just so I can spend more time in my workshop. What can I say…? I'm hooked… creating something from nothing can do that.

But sometimes it can get frustrating… I'm talking about when you have to wing it… compromise your designs so they fit whatever parts you happen to find.

Right now I'm going to show you how to never come across this problem ever again.

I'm going to give you the key to turn your dreams into reality in the exact way you picture them in your mind.

You'll completely erase any infuriating experiences you might have had with DIY-ing and feel only pride and satisfaction when you finish your projects.

Here's What I'm Talking About

When I started out my first woodworking project it was a train-wreck.

Don't get me wrong I'm pretty “handy” but… I was in over my head.

Carving out details turned out to be a real can of warms…

All I had to do was make some wood cut-outs but I couldn't. I tried to. Over and over again… Soon enough I was just fantasizing about quitting… I still don't know why I didn't…

I must have spent hundreds of dollars on wood and hundreds of hours getting things wrong before I finally had moment of clarity.

I was surfing online… desperately searching for instructions to improve my woodcarving technique… and I stumbled upon a video of some guy using a machine to carve-out ultra-precise details into wood.

He called it a CNC machine and you can actually use it for any kind of woodwork.

After a bit of investigating I started figuring out how it works and the truth is: it's a pretty simple mechanism.

See… CNC stands for computer numerical control which basically means you punch some numbers into a computer and those numbers command the machine to move exactly how you want it…

In this case… it gives the machine the exact spots to carve onto.

It might sound complicated but it really isn't… imagine a sharp sculpting tool moving from front to back, left to right and up and down.

Hook it up to a computer… and you'll have a personal, ultra-precise wood carving machine that can spit-out unique, personalized pieces of woodwork.

It's basically a Smart Saw. I like to call it that because you can create and design whatever your imagination can draw up just by pushing a button.

Anything from wooden toys for your kids, to coffee-tables, shop signs, home decorations, engraved cigar boxes, picnic tables, racks, TV cabinets, desks, dog houses, even surf boards or guitars.

There are no limits!

You Take a Drawing and Turn It from Paper to Wood Just by Pushing a Button

Here's why I was getting so excited about it:

  • With a Smart Saw there's no room for error because it's a 100% self-correcting device.

It's just like a master craftsman were standing right next to you… correcting you ahead of time so you'd never make a wrong cut.

  • You'll never have to waste any precious time or any money on wood.

Instead of trying over and over again to get the measurements right or to make flawless cuts… you'll create the perfect cut-out right from the very first try.

  • And even a lousy woodworker like myself can make the most complex projects in no time.

In fact, you'll be able to make elaborate designs even if you've never touched a piece of wood before. Because the Smart Saw has incredible accuracy. It would take years of harsh training for a man to develop these skills. But the Smart Saw cuts out even the smallest details flawlessly.

  • Plus: a Smart Saw works 20 times faster than the human hand because it's already programed and knows exactly what you're going for.

This means you can spend more time creating personalized, unique projects, transforming your hobby into a true passion.

  • And after you use it a couple of times, you'll see for yourself that your woodcarving Smart Saw can turn into a real business because…

Once you've made a design you can print it out as many times as you want and sell it. If your projects are good people will be lining-up and you'll be able to transform your hobby into a real business.

  • And finally… here's the best part: The Smart Saw can work completely on auto-pilot. Just select your design whenever you have 5 minutes of spare time and let it go to work.

99% of your job ends after you pick your design. So sit back and relax or go about your daily routine till the Smart Saw prints out your project.

Listen… all of this is just a peak at what you can do with a Smart Saw…

Imagine being able to craft exclusive home decorations like clockwork and giving them to your close friends as gifts.

Or picture yourself making a beautiful mantle clock and passing it on to your kids to keep it in the family forever…

And what if you could start a business after you retire from your day-job? You could actually transform a hobby into a real career.

It might sound too good to be true…

Here's The Catch:

A professional CNC woodcarving machine costs tens of thousands of dollars.

The cheapest 2nd hand machine I could find was $2000.

So buying one of those is out of the question. At least for me… because I didn't want to buy a machine that would fall apart after I unpack it.

And plus: I already had an idea about how it works. So I thought to myself I could put one together all by myself…

You could too… Look: If you're good with inventions, you can build your own woodcarving machine just by going after what you'll find online.

I did… so it's possible. It won't be easy but you don't have to be the next Leonardo da Vinci.

Here's what I mean: There's a lot of guesswork involved and a lot of hours standing in front of the computer just researching websites…

When I built my Smart Saw, most of the stuff I found online was either confusing or downright worthless, the websites I found either lacked essential details or were too academic and complex.

If I didn't know anything about inventions, it would have taken me at least half a year to put together a woodcarving machine.

But because I have an engineering background… after a few days of going through articles and videos… I felt confident I was up for the task.

It wasn't quite as easy as I expected but I got the job done in 2 days and I filmed the entire thing.

I have every step of the way on camera. I wanted to have footage so I could go back and look at it if I didn't get it right from the first try.

After I Put Together My Smart Saw I Couldn't Get Enough of It

I started up small… making a new knife block for the kitchen. My wife and I loved it so much that I kept going.

That's when the fun started.

Soon enough I was making personalized picture frames, cutting boards, decorative bowls, coat racks, wooden toys for my girls, a jewelry box for my wife and a lot of other things I'm probably forgetting right now…

As I moved onto more complex projects I noticed my skills started to develop faster.

See… I didn't have to worry about making the perfect cuts and not wasting any wood. I could really sink my teeth into the actual construction… the real part of DIY-ing.

After I got the hang of it I felt confident putting together bigger stuff like: a new mailbox, chairs, clocks, bathroom units, cabinets, desks, mirror frames, book shelves, a dog house and right now I'm working on something very special… a tree house for my daughters. I can't wait to see how they'll react when it's ready. I can already imagine their faces lighting up.

One day a friend of mine was dropping off his kid for a play-date. We started talking but right in the middle of our conversation he paused. He was staring at my new mailbox. I could see he wasn't listening… his mind was in another place.

When he finally snapped out of it he said “That's a really great-looking mailbox, would you mind telling me where you got it?”

“That? I made that“. I said proudly.

The look on his face was priceless. He was stunned.

So I took him to my garage and showed off my workshop. I explained how my Smart Saw works and he couldn't believe what I was making.

He was even more shocked when he saw it in action. He asked me to make him a mailbox like mine and I did.

Soon after people noticed what I was doing… friends started asking me for favors. I made them guitars, shop signs, bird-houses and sure enough they fell in love with them.

That's when Things Got a Little Crazy

I felt like I was becoming some kind of a local celebrity…

Family, friends, my wife's friends, my friends' friends… all of them were raving about my “beautifully crafted designs”.

It wasn't long until people started asking questions. All of them wanted to know how to put together their own Smart Saws. I realized I had to show them the recordings I had of me building it.

In fact… I decided I'm going to share my recordings with the entire world and let everyone in on my “secret”.

Before I got to do that… I wanted to make building a Smart Saw so easy even kids could do it.

First, I sent the video to a professional film production company to edit it.

Then I decided to also have step-by-step written instructions to go alongside the video. I even made template illustrations for drilling holes and sent all my blue-prints to a professional editor.

It came back looking just like an Ikea manual.

The name Smart Saw just stuck with me so I called it:

“The DIY Smart Saw: How to Build a CNC Machine in an Afternoon Using Parts You Can Find at Any Store”

 Learn More

This program is your guarantee that in just a couple of hours you'll be able to put together your own CNC machine or Smart Saw as I like to call it.

You'll have your own step-by-step video tutorial plus a written manual to go by its side. It will be just like I'm next to you guiding you every step of the way.

Actually, the first thing I did was send the program to a small group of people for feedback…

All of them told me these instructions make regular woodworking “plans” look like children scribbles.

But here's what actually impressed me: most of them tried out the program and built their own machines.

I didn't ask them to do it… They said they got all worked up about it from reading the instructions.

I think it's because there's no fancy jargon, no academic lingo, and no technical mumbo jumbo that would take an engineering degree to understand.

Everybody gets it. Here's how easy it is to follow The DIY Smart Saw program:

  • First of all… you have video footage and commentary of me guiding you every step of the way.

Just watch the video once and you'll put together your own Smart Saw even if you've never used a screwdriver before.

You're not even going to rewind the video to check if you're doing alright. It's just like watching a cooking show and trying out the recipe for yourself.

  • Plus: right from the start I give you a complete list of all the tools and parts you'll be using.

This way you won't find yourself mid-construction only to realize you're missing something crucial or you've been using the wrong tools the entire time.

  • And each section of the manual is filled with hints, notes and tips.

I'm giving you little secrets for what kind of tools you can use and how to make sure the parts are an easy fit. This way you'll be having a blast building your Smart Saw and you don't have to go out of your way to build it.

  • And before you get to work I'll even show you how to check if the set-up was done correctly just by clicking on a button.

That way you don't have to waste wood trying out your machine and even your first design will be a success you'll proudly show off.

  • Finally, besides the video I also put together step-by-step notes broken down into 4 phases.

Each step of the construction is illustrated with detailed imagery and flawlessly shaped designs that make it just like assembling Legos.

If you follow these blue-prints you'll never think twice about what you're doing and you'll get it right from the first try.

And if you have any questions along the way you have 24/7 access to our customer service crew.

Simply write us an email and a team of trained specialists will give you their full support no matter what you need.

If you don't feel like writing any emails, you'll also find a “Help and Troubleshooting” section in my manual.

You can check it out before sending us your message and maybe you'll find the answers you're looking for.

So before I tell you how you can get The DIY Smart Saw… let me ask you a question:

How much is it worth to you to know there's nothing impossible for you to build? To become the ultimate expert craftsman? To see all your dream projects become reality just by pushing a button?

If this step-by-step tutorial helps you satisfy your family's deepest dreams and desires by giving them all the things they always wanted… If you'll own unique pieces of furniture that aren't available in any shops…

How Much Would That Be Worth to You?

Think about it… You could buy a professional CNC machine for beginners at $30.000, have it shipped to you and then still have to put it all together by yourself without instructions designed specifically for you.

Or you could spend years trying to develop your carpentry skills, wasting away money and precious time just so eventually you'll learn how to make the perfect cut-out.

And guess what… even after years of harsh and expensive training you still won't be able to build anything you want with the detail and precision of a DIY Smart Saw.

I put together The DIY Smart Saw so people will build whatever they want and not have to cough up a fortune.

Needless to say… this one of a kind program should be something everyone can afford.

As I already told you… the price of the cheapest 2nd hand CNC machine is $2000. But I'm not going to ask you to invest anything close to that.

After all… I only put it together to help my friends. I don't plan on getting rich out of it. In fact, I'm NOT even going to ask you to invest $1000 in this training. Even though we both know it's probably worth more than that just because you'll never have to buy another piece of furniture ever again.

This special program won't even cost you $500… even though $500 is only a quarter of how much the cheapest CNC machine costs…

As a matter of fact… I'm willing to give it up for less than $250. Even though my wife insists this should be the absolute minimum because the guide is so valuable.

I mean… imagine how much money you'll be able to save in the long-run.

You'll be able to make whatever you need and repair whatever piece of furniture you have that's already broken down.

So here's What I'm Going to Do:

I'm going to set the price for The DIY Smart Saw at just $39.

Learn More

This means you'll be able to get The DIY Smart Saw program for only $39 and make one-of-a-kind DIY projects, home decorations and furniture you don't have to pay absurd amounts for…

Think about it… there are basic tool boxes that cost more than this. Just remember all the money you already threw out the window on tools that are probably lying around in your home or garage and you barely get to use them.

I'm betting they cost more than $39 and this machine will make you anything out of wood with just the push of a button.

Plus: if you get The DIY Smart Saw right now I'll also throw in a special bonus report FREE OF CHARGE.

I put together a short video guide that shows you exactly how to use your Smart Saw and create the designs you want. I call it “101 Woodworking”.

Rest assured knowing I'll be right there next to you. Guiding you every step of the way when you print your first projects. This step-by-step manual makes woodworking easier than checking your email.

Actually, wait, it's even easier than that. It's super easy. It's so easy I could train my dog to do it… Heck, I could train your dog to do it… Don't believe me? Okay here's the deal…

If you ever had a day-job… any kind of day-job, I guarantee you THAT was way harder than carving out your projects using a Smart Saw.

You don't have to download anything or install any overly-complicated software. All you need to create your designs is to have an internet connection.

This special video bonus is your guarantee that there's no way you can mess up.

And if you use this method you can practice making your designs on the computer to get used to the Smart Saw. Think about the amount of time and money you'll be able to save…

If you get The DIY Smart Saw right now, I'm giving them to you for free. As a way to thank you for sticking with me so far and investing in this special program.

So for only $39 you'll get a digital version of The DIY Smart Saw program (which includes both the video program and the transcribed instructions). Plus the “101 Woodworking” special video training.

And in fact… the price doesn't even matter because you'll be covered by my “60 Days, No Questions Asked, and Money Back Guarantee”.

Here's the deal: I'm willing to take all the risk here. Get The DIY Smart Saw right now.

Watch this short and simple video. Assemble your machine… and if you can't get the job done just from my program you have 60 full days to return it and you'll get your money back ASAP.

No questions asked and no hard feelings. I figure that's enough time to go through the material, test it out and decide if it's right for you.

The Way I See It You Have 3 Options:

You could do nothing. Pretend you never heard about making woodwork designs only by clicking a button.

Try to forget everything you heard in the past minutes and go back to struggling with lousy woodworking plans and half-baked instructions for DIY projects.

But if you choose to do this, you'd also have to ignore that gut-feeling that you're making a huge mistake.

You'd have to live with yourself wondering what could have been because this offer won't be available forever.

You probably don't want to miss out on the opportunity of trying out this one of a kind course for yourself.

Or you can try to do it all by yourself… I already told you it's not impossible to build your Smart Saw all by yourself.

The problem is it will take you an eternity. Especially if you never invented or even built anything before.

There's a lot of guesswork involved. You'd probably have to spend weeks on end researching DIY websites, reading overly-complicated, technical blogs and watching poorly explained videos.

I already did all this hard work for you and created a one of a kind, easy to follow program with everyone in mind.

For only a onetime payment of $39 I'll be saving you from a massive headache, a lot of lost time and wasted money.

Which leads me to your 3rd option…

You could get The DIY Smart Saw right now. Remember… you're not risking anything because you're covered by my 60 days' money-back guarantee.

So click the “Add to Cart” button below and just try it out.

There are no limits to what a you can do with a Smart Saw. Furniture, home decorations, wood-crafted accessories… virtually anything you or your family can imagine will become reality.

You can go through my program in just one afternoon. That's all it takes to become an expert craftsman.

Don't just take my word for it. Try it out for yourself. You already took the first step just by sticking with me so far and watching this presentation.

So click the “Add to Cart” button below and complete your order. When you finish your first project you can send me a photo and brag about it.

Still here? Let me answer some of the most common questions I get from time to time.

  • Is it hard to put together a Smart Saw? Will I be able to build mine even if I never built anything before?

Listen… these video instructions make it as easy as assembling Legos. You'll be able to build your Smart Saw even if you never hammered a nail before.

Just watch the tutorial once and you'll see for yourself you already have everything you need to put it together.

Plus: if you have any questions you can always ask me about it in the members' area.

So far I didn't get any complaints because the instructions are so clear. But if you can't follow them you already know about my “no questions asked” money-back guarantee.

So you can just say maybe to The DIY Smart Saw and see for yourself if it's the right thing for you.

  • How does the Smart Saw connect to the computer?

All you need to hook up your Smart Saw is a simple USB cable. You probably use one to charge your phone. I'm sure you'll find one lying around your home.

  • What type of computer do I need to operate a Smart Saw?

The Smart Saw works on any kind of computer. You can also use a laptop.

If you can connect it to the internet, then you can operate a CNC machine. It doesn't matter if it's an Apple, a Microsoft computer, a Linux, or anything else.

  • How much does it cost to build a Smart Saw?

I put together the Smart Saw you'll see in the video for only $500. And that's because I bought all the parts. I wanted them all to be new and feel like I was getting real quality.

The price to put together a Smart Saw depends on what parts you already have lying around and what you want to buy. Friends of mine managed to put together theirs for under $160… even less…

It all depends on how much you want to spend on your parts really… You can even make it from scraps using printer motors and old car parts…

I wouldn't recommend doing that… but technically… you could.

  • Do I also get the app for operating the Smart Saw?

That's the beauty of the Smart Saw… you don't really need any apps, programs or complicated software. All you need to use it is an internet connection.

And as I already told you you're also getting a step by step video tutorial that walks you through the exact steps you need to take to carve out a design using the Smart Saw.

  • How quickly will I learn to use it?

Just watch a 10 minute video once and you'll be able to carve out your design. There's really no learning curve. You can learn to use the Smart Saw in no time.

The time it takes for you to draw up your design however… will vary.

It all depends on what type of design you want, how complex it is and how skilled you are.

If you don't want to spend too much on it… for starters you can use other people's designs. You'll be able to find some online.

  • What kind of wood can I use for my Smart Saw?

There's really no wrong or right answer for this question.

You can use any kind of wood. Just like regular carpentry… some types of wood are better than others and usually it depends on what you're making.

But rest assured knowing you don't need any kind of special wood. You can use anything from soft woods, basswoods, cottonwood, butternut or hard wood.

  • Will I need any tools?

Right from the very start of the program you'll see a complete list of tools you'll need to put together the Smart Saw.

However… you'll never have to use any tools to carve out your designs if you use the Smart Saw.

All you have to do is push a button and your design will come out in a couple of minutes.

So go ahead, click the “Add to Cart” button and astonish your family and friends with your unique projects. Turn your dreams into reality with The DIY Smart Saw.

How To Build A Doomsday Family Bunker

Fellow Patriot,

If your anyone like me, you want to do absolutely everything in your power to make sure your family is safe, no matter what.

We all know our country is heading in a pretty scary direction and these days our family's are faced with more dangers than ever before.

My name is John Hartman,

I am a retired member of the United States armed forces and a certified disaster and survival expert.

I will do anything and everything to protect my family and I sure hope you have similar values.

4 years ago I decided it was absolutely necessary to provide my family with a safe hide out – in case the “you know what” hits the fan. I came to the conclusion that…

“The Ultimate Solution Is A Survival Bunker

After deciding to provide my family with a survival bunker I sat down and drew up a plan with all of our special requirements.

I wanted my bunker to be hidden and secretive.

I wanted my bunker to be hidden and secretive.

My bunker needed to me impossible to break into.

I needed it big enough to fit 5 people comfortably.

I needed to fit enough food and water supplies for 6 months straight.

It needed to be ventilated.

It needed to have a source of renewable energy for unlimited power!

It needed to be durable and solid enough to withstand natural disasters or terrorist attacks.

My journey begins…

It was at this point that I decided to build my own bunker so I could keep costs as low as possible!

I researched for months and asked several builders to help me plan out a bunker so I could do the work myself to save some money. It wasn't until 6 months after starting my research I was contacted by a nice fellow that goes by the name of Brian Walters.

Brian is just like me, he's an honest red-blooded American with a loving family. He has gone the extra mile and created a professional bunker for his family. He's stocked his bunker with all the goodies – survival food, flares, water and everything else him and his family will need in th event of a disaster.

After speaking with Brian over the course of a few weeks I finally convinced him to help me with my own family bunker. He drew up some rough plans, wrote down the parts I needed and planned out my site.

Brian's plan gave me the opportunity to provide my family with a survival bunker with a very small outlay on parts and I save even more money since I can now do the work myself!

In March of 2011 we started to work on my underground bunker. My family also helped with the project, we actually had many great bonding moments during the build process and I got even closer with my family.

Just one month after the day we started the project we had completed all the hard work. Now it was just time to install some shelves for our survival stockpile and fit out the bunker with some decorative touches (my wife loved this part!)

Family Bunker Plans Now, just 2 months after we first started the project we had a complete survival bunker that is as professional as any bunker out there.

Our family bunker fits all of our requirements. In fact, I think its better than anything we could have purchased from a builder.

I'm so proud of myself and my family for completing this project and I'm extremely impressed with the final result.

Being a disaster and survival expert I knew there were other families out there that would greatly benefit from their own bunker.

So Brian and myself decided to combine our knowledge and create a simple to follow, step-by-step guide to building a bunker for YOUR family.

We're risking our reputation…

Brian and myself are professionals in survival and disaster preparation – It's what we're know for! Since our reputation is on the line, we leave no stone unturned! Here's what you're going to learn with our Family Bunker Construction Manual:

Use our secret sources to get your materials at the lowest possible price. This can make or break your chances at building a low cost bunker.
Crucial site preparation tip! Warning: You must know this before preparing ANY site. Not knowing this quick tip could result in heart ache and lost $$$.
How to obtain your permit. Get full step-by-step instructions to obtain a building permit including a check list of what you need to do. Just check them off as you do each step.
Design and layout planning tips and advise from a qualified expert. Our design tips will help you choose the right layout for your families needs.
On top of my layout tips your also going to get all of my professional 3D diagrams to help you along the way!
Learn how to correctly prepare your site. We go into quite a lot of detail with plenty of diagrams and pictures on this topic because this is where I see a lot of newbie container builders go wrong. So pay attention and don't miss this step!
Get our electrical layout and installation plans. I've topped this off with full diagrams to make this as simple as possible.
This is just a small fraction of the information we're including in our guide. There is SO MUCH MORE included and I'm sure you're going to love the detail.

As you can see, this is extremely extensive. You will not find this level of detailed information anywhere else. Not in the library, not in other online guides, not You Tube, nowhere!

But I'm not a builder, can I
still build a survival bunker?

You bet ya! Our plans are made with patriots like you in mind. We've made our plans very easy to follow and included all the steps so you can just follow along. You can either build and underground bunker or and aboveground bunker. Which ever option you choose, you're family will be safe and secure – no matter what!

“Here's why people are saying our
plans are the best out there”

Afford-ability. Building an underground bunker using our plans is extremely cost effective. If you've already looked into the cost of getting a professional to do the job you obviously know what I mean.
Design. You can easily modify the plans to create a modern sleek look.
Strength. Our plans allow you to build a bunker that will withstand any natural disaster or terrorist attack!
Time. Because our plans are made for the “Average Joe” with zero building experience you will have your underground bunker complete in record time.
Unique. Because you can customize many parts of the bunker you will have something totally unique.
Secretive. When disaster strikes, looters come out to play! You DO NOT want others to know about your bunker! Our design will show you how to camouflage your bunker so only your family know of it's existence.

Reclaimed Lumber for Furniture

How to Make Money in Woodworking,

“What have you been up to, we need our videos?!?!” That's the question I hope this video can partially answer. I've been busy with work which has kept me away from making YouTube videos. So I decided to bring YouTube along with me for a day. In this video I'm on location salvaging some old lumber from a barn and house. The wood is being used for a set of farm tables I'm making. Reclaimed wood is great for projects where you are making new furniture that looks old. You just can beat it for it's aged appearance and authentic marks and coloration. It takes some work and effort to find and get it, but once you have, you've got a great product to work with. My tools of choice for salvaging are several pry bars, framing hammer, sledge hammer, chainsaw, shovel, rake, leaf blower, truck and a winch. With these items you can tear down just about anything…….. also jacks are nice too. Join me for a day of work. Be sure to let me know if you'd like to see more videos like this, if so, I'll bring the camera along with me on my travels more often. Thank you for watching and check out the link below to start your own money making business in Woodworking.

Family Bunker Plans

Family Bunker Plans

The first show of Doomsday Bunkers on National Geographic was a great start to the topic of living in an underground bunkers. It was fairly obvious that all of the bunkers were family-bunkerquite expensive but also of excellent quality which might very well save your life one day, but is it the right choice?

With so many options for underground shelters or bunkers it may take a bit of forethought to decide on a solution that works well for you. Storm shelters have been built for years in Tornado Alley and have withstood much of the forces mother nature could throw at you. If you are considering the possibility of a pole shift those forces will most likely be much more extreme and of a longer duration. One of the key features of any bunker would be its ability to withstand such forces. Many survival shelters build for protection against tornado's are of a cement block structure. These are very good when protecting from high winds in an earthquake scenario it wouldn't hold up as well as a bunker made of steel and reinforced with ribs.

So with that said what are you looking for in a bunker? If it's for a short duration say a couple of days then you have many more options available to you and don't have to spend time considering power, sewage, water, filtered air etc. You could probably do fine with a much smaller stockpile also. If on the other hand you are looking at maybe being underground for 3 months or longer you'll need to put a lot more planning into your survival bunker to make sure you have plenty of water, air filtration, sewage treatment or at least a way to get rid of it as well as plenty of room for survival rations.

Another aspect to consider if you were to live in an underground bunker is the mental aspect of it. Think of a family of four in a bunker of say 600 sq feet. It's doable but 4 people in that little space without access to the outside is likely to take a toll on everyone mentally. There are quite a few ways to help that. One thing that has proven to help underground is higher ceilings so you might consider making 10 foot ceilings. Also the colors inside should be bright and reflective so that any light source is amplified to help you feel less like you are underground. Things like pictures of your favorite place might also help you feel like the real world is right outside the window.

Then there is the physical to consider in a bunker. Working out would probably be essential to keep your conditioning up and help relieve the stresses of living underground. You'd also be lacking in Vitamin D which is already a problem for people who live in really rainy areas due to lack of access to sunlight. I'd recommend getting a supply of vitamin D and taking at least 2000 to 4000 units a day (usually 2 pills). This will help as when you get a low vitamin D you get lethargic, start to feel depression and a range of other issues that will make enduring for 3 months underground much harder.

Tips To Building Your Own Underground Bunker – Tips for Survivalists…

Consider also having activities to do, games, books, movies and the like. If you have access to power you could have a lot of movies on DVD or a hard drive. A kindle book reader is also a good choice as you could have lots of books on there and take up much less space in your bunker than having room for 100 books.

You should also make everyone responsible for some chores on a daily basis so everyone has something to do, you might not be able to keep them busy for 8 hours but at least knowing there are expectations of what you need to do on a daily basis is a good way to keep depression and anger at bay.

Lastly if you are going to get an underground bunker, give it a try. Don't wait until you have to use it to find out you are missing something or need to overcome the physical and mental drain of living in an underground doomsday bunker. Spend a couple of weekends up there or even a week. Be prepared and stay alive. That's what Doomsday Prepping is all about!

At Family Bunker Plans you will find a information and supplies for building and or living in an underground bunker. If you are serious about your doomsday preparations then you should really consider having an underground bunker to keep you and your family safe.
